As chapters of the Tau Gamma Phi Fraternity and Tau Gamma Sigma Sorority were established in the different barangays of Limay, Bataan, the need arose to establish a Municipal Council that would provide leadership, coordination, and guidance to the different chapters throughout the municipality.
Thus, the Limay Triskelion Municipal Council (LTMC) was established as the municipal council representing the Triskelions of Limay and serving as a coordinating body for the different chapters within the municipality.
The very first Municipal Council election was called and organized by the Provincial Council together with the GovGen. Bro. Xzibit and Bro. Crimson were present as witnesses to oversee and conduct the election.
The historic election was held in Barangay Lamao, Limay, Bataan, and was attended by brods and sis, together with officers representing the different chapters throughout Limay.
The election for the highest position, Municipal Chairman, was contested by two candidates — Bro. Engers and Bro. Yumi.
The election was a closely contested one. After all the votes were counted, the result ended in a tie between the two candidates. To break the deadlock, a coin toss was conducted. Bro. Yumi called the correct side of the coin and was declared the winner for the position of Municipal Chairman.
“Bro. Yumi called the correct side of the coin and was declared the winner for the position of Municipal Chairman.” The first Municipal Chairman, decided by a coin toss
Following the outcome and the discussions that took place, it was agreed that there was no longer a need to conduct a separate election for the position of Vice Chairman. As a result, Bro. Engers was designated as Municipal Vice Chairman.
This marked the beginning of the Limay Triskelion Municipal Council, bringing together the chapters and Triskelions of Limay under one municipal council.
The Revival of the Limay Triskelion Municipal Council
As the years passed, many brods and sis began building their families and becoming occupied with their careers, businesses, and personal responsibilities. As a result, several chapters throughout Limay gradually became less active.
The once-active gatherings and activities of the brods and sis became less frequent, and some chapters eventually became quiet.
In 2016, Bro. Engers took the initiative to help revive the brotherhood and sisterhood throughout Limay. He reached out to brods and sis from the different barangays and chapters, encouraging them to become active once again and reconnect with their fellow Triskelions.
At the same time, new members who wished to become part of the Tau Gamma Phi Fraternity and Tau Gamma Sigma Sorority were welcomed and encouraged to join the brotherhood and sisterhood.
Little by little, the Triskelions of Limay began to regain their strength and fellowship. Activities, gatherings, and projects once again started taking place in the different chapters throughout the municipality.
Former members who had become inactive gradually returned, while new members continued to join. Through their collective efforts, the brotherhood and sisterhood throughout Limay were once again brought to life.
With the renewed strength and participation of the brods and sis, the need arose to once again establish a strong municipal leadership. A new election was therefore held to determine the leadership of the different chapters and the Limay Triskelion Municipal Council.
In that election, Bro. Engers was elected Chairman of the Limay Triskelion Municipal Council. He then formed his team of officers and regents who would stand with him in leading the council, coordinating with the different chapters, and helping uphold the rules, traditions, and principles of the brotherhood and sisterhood throughout Limay.
The Continuing Legacy of LTMC
From its beginnings, the Limay Triskelion Municipal Council has continued to serve as a unifying council for the Tau Gamma Phi Fraternity and Tau Gamma Sigma Sorority in Limay.
Through the years, different brods have taken on the responsibility of serving as Municipal Chairman, together with their respective officers and regents. Each leadership has contributed its own time, effort, and service to the continued strengthening of the brotherhood and sisterhood.
Numerous elections, gatherings, activities, projects, and milestones have taken place throughout the years. Each generation of brods and sis has added another chapter to the history of the Triskelions of Limay.
Today, the Limay Triskelion Municipal Council continues to bring together the Triskelions of the different chapters throughout the municipality, carrying with it the history, fellowship, traditions, and spirit of the Tau Gamma Phi Fraternity and Tau Gamma Sigma Sorority.
The history of LTMC is not only a story of its leaders and elections. It is the story of the brods and sis who remained, those who returned, and those who came after them — each contributing a part to the continuing journey of the Triskelions of Limay.
From its humble beginnings, through its revival, and into the present, the legacy of the Limay Triskelion Municipal Council continues to be written by the brods and sis who carry the spirit of the brotherhood and sisterhood forward.
